Details:
A soaking 2 to 3 inches of rain are expected, with localized totals of 3 to 4.5 inches possible in a few neighborhoods.
Rain is expected to begin between 3:00 and 3:20 this afternoon. It will come in rounds, continuing until 11pm.
Strong winds are likely at times, which could cause tree limbs to fall. Additionally, when combined with very moist soil, a few trees will likely fall.
What this means for you:
1. The heavy and torrential rains may make it very difficult to see when driving. An earlier dismissal (2:30 or so) ahead of the storms may be a good idea.
2. If you have any drainage issues, whether in classrooms or other areas, be aware that this rain will likely be a problem.
3. If your electricity is prone to being knocked out by falling tree limbs, be aware there is a distinct possibility of this.
4. There is a chance of a tornado occurring in our vicinity. If a tornado warning were to be issued, seek shelter in a lower floor away from windows.
